Stephen Anderson

Stephen Anderson is the exhibits coordinator at UC Irvine Libraries. An internationally exhibiting artist, he previously served as the executive director of the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art (OCCCA) and as the Exhibits and Education Coordinator at the OC Fair & Event Center. He has designed and organized numerous exhibitions, particularly within the downtown Santa Ana art scene. A Sci-fi fan and an artist at heart, he regularly exhibits his artwork both domestically and internationally. Stephen holds a BFA from California State University, Long Beach.

Anastasia Armendariz

Anastasia Armendariz (she/her) is the Rare Books & Special Collections Librarian at UC Irvine Libraries. She currently serves as co-chair of the RBMS (Rare Books and Manuscripts Section) Publications and Communications Committee (ALA). Anastasia holds an AB/MA in English from Georgetown University and an MLIS from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Devorah Bader

Devorah Bader is a Library Assistant 4 in the Technical Services Department. Specifically, she works with the Accounting and Print Monograph Acquisitions unit purchasing, paying invoices and receiving physical monographs for Langson and Science Libraries and specialized collections. Prior to starting at UC Irvine Libraries in 2023, Devorah was a school librarian for seven years. She worked with students in grades TK – 12, teaching lessons in information literacy, digital literacy and research skills. During this time, she read many middle grade and young adult books searching for the perfect recommendations for her students. Ender’s Game was her introduction to the world of science and speculative fiction novels while in college.

 

Cynthia Johnson

Cynthia Johnson

Cynthia Johnson is the head of Reference, head of the Grunigen Medical Library, and chair of the exhibits program at UC Irvine Libraries. She manages reference services across the libraries and oversees the Grunigen Medical Library. She has more than 30 years of experience in academic libraries. Before coming to UC Irvine, she worked at the Pratt Institute Library in Brooklyn and the Barnard College Library in New York. Cynthia has a BA in art history from UC San Diego, an MA in art history from Boston University, and an MS in library services from Columbia University.
