Oliver Brown

Oliver Brown

Oliver Brown is an experimental artist-composer and scholar from Naarm/Melbourne, Australia and a PhD student in integrated composition, improvisation, and technology (ICIT) at the UC Irvine. His intermedia works frequently take the form of sonic-sculptural installations, often incorporating everyday objects, vernacular media, and interactive technologies. He is deeply committed to amplifying the voices and aesthetics of the historically overlooked. This reflects particularly in his prioritization of mundane, serendipitous aesthetic encounters as well as his research interests in urban ecologies, Fluxus performance art, and contemporary theories of ambiguity, subjectivity, and contingency. Contact him at ocbrown@uci.edu.
